Eternal (EP) Conjecture

1. 10-page Summary

A good starting place to understand the EPC: “IF there ever is Something there always was Something”. And btw, who is YLA? 1 year, 99 papers!

3. 1-Page Overview

The general argument structure of the EPC: Finding a unique Base Case which is Necessary and Invariant

4. The Eternal Spring

With the discovery of always we complete a 2500 year intellectual quest. We claim a new Renaissance.

5. Freedom Debate

Building off “Sweet Land of Liberty” (#50), we’ve laid out a 1 page overview for understanding Free Will.

6. Campaign Never Ended

YLA ran for public office on a novel platform with the best intentions. We never gave up and never will.

7. Whiteboard Video

A 1 minute video overview of the most important argument you’ve never heard of.

8. First Lecture

This is a video talk from April 14 2024. It compares the EP Conjecture to the cosmological argument (#47, #76)

9. Always “Definition”

The EPC proposes a new interpretation of always: an a priori natural concept hiding in plain sight.

10. The Framework

Something (existence) or Absolute Nothing (no existence): one or the other; not neither (no 3rd category), not both (mutually exclusive)

11. Nothing vs. Always

There is undeniably Something. Therefore, either (1) a Nothing to Something, or (2) always. Because it can’t be proven you must decide for yourself as judge and jury of 1.

12. Something v. Nothing

As said by Socrates: “Understanding a question is half an answer”. Leibniz’s most beautiful question is the ultimate counter-factual.

13. Dear Elon

The Simulation Hypothesis is the Universe’s Biggest Conspiracy Theory. The EP Conjecture slays this argument on behalf of the people!

14. The Eternal Instance

Many think “everything” is captured with past time and future time. But always is not past time. Forever is not future time. There is an Eternal instance: both 1st and last.

15. The Marauder’s Map

We finally put together a map to help you navigate this case file. We hope the reader finds what they are looking for. Mischief managed.

16. Prime Time

Existence, Necessity, Uniqueness, Invariance, Un-caused, Not encoded. An incredible array comes together in a beautiful conceptual synthesis.

17. 2025 Overview

We go A to Z on the logic at play in the EP Conjecture. Included are many “equations”, or really, non-equations (ex. Something ≠ Nothing; N ≠ N).

18. Ultimate Ends

What is the long fate of our physical universe? Idk. Should this drive our philosophy on eschatology? No!

19. Eternal ≠ Time

Always exists as un-caused and is un-beginning. Its original instance is without time (before all time). Because it’s an invariant (un -changing) the same existor is also forever (un-ending).

20. Consciousness ≠ Computation

Many believe that computation explains our 1st person awareness which we call consciousness. This paper explains why that’s not true.

21. A Logician’s Apology

The EP Conjecture is a counter example to the logical assumptions underlying the Sentient AI claim. That’s because it’s a counter-example to the computational and physicalist perspective.

22. Will AI Ever Be Conscious?

This paper provides links to my work on the topic of whether computers (AI) will ever be conscious. My answer: “not necessarily” (minimum), “probably not” (moderate), or “no” (max).

23. Duel of the Fates

A brute fact is when you have one alternative against other possibilities (i.e. it could have been this or that something)-- or at minimum, 1 something against the non-foreclosed counter-factual of absolute nothing instead. Is "always" a brute fact? No. The opposite of brute: the absolute!

24. Chicken and Waffles

This paper explains why defining Nothing and Always within formal logic is a category error. It also refutes a quasi-review of the ep conjecture, in devastating fashion.

25. The Eternal Conjecture

This 1 page summary is from 2026. The EP Conjecture, formally known as the Eternal Past Conjecture, is now the Eternal Conjecture. It’s not just. branding. Eternal and time are not the same. This makes it clear.
